3 days gorilla tracking safari

Destination: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Mountain gorillas are one of the most endangered species vanishing from the wild, with their current population in the world estimated to be close to 880.Half of this population residing in Uganda´s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Take on this safari for an experience like no other. No one looks into the gentle and vulnerable eyes of a gorilla and remains untouched!

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

This morning depart Kampala and take a drive South West of the country through several landscapes and amazing sceneries en-route to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home of the mountain gorillas. We will stop at the Equator crossing for snacks, refreshments and photography. Have a Lunch break in Mbarara town and thereafter, drive to Bwindi. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. The evening will be spent on optional community walks which can be arranged with your guide

Overnight: Mahogany Springs Lodge/ Buhoma Community Haven Lodge/ Buhoma Community Rest Camp.

Meals: Full Board

Day 2: Gorilla tracking

An early start with a cup of coffee, ready for trekking that begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA officials. The ranger guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been allocated to. When you finally locate the family that you are tracking, you will sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male – the silverback.You will be allowed to spend only one magical hour with the gorillas after which you will trek aback to your lodge.

Overnight: Mahogany Springs Lodge/ Buhoma Community Haven Lodge/ Buhoma Community Rest Camp.

Meals: Full Board

Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe and Departure

After breakfast transfer back to Kampala with various stops including one in Mbarara town for your lunch. Proceed to Kampala with an optional stop at the royal drum makers in Mpigi. Your driver/guide will then complete your transfer to the airport in time for your evening flight back home or you can choose to spend the night in Kampala/Entebbe.
