Day 1: Kampala - Queen Elizabeth national park
Early morning pick up from your hotel in Kampala to start our journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. We will have a coffee break at the equator in Masaka and then proceed through the countryside dotted with banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns. Arrive at the lodge to check in and have lunch. Later in the evening head out for a two-hour boat trip along the famous Kazinga channel which is worthwhile for an opportunity to see hippos, buffaloes, Ugandan kobs, elephants and warthogs. This launch trip also enables you the chance to see some spectacular birds. The shores of the lake attract large concentrations of mammals, birds as well as reptiles all year around.

Day 2: Full day Game drives- Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector of the park. The Kasenyi plains are excellent for sighting lions and large herds of Uganda kobs. Also watch out for Cape buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, leopards, hyenas, giant forest hogs as well as elephants. In the afternoon you will travel south into the remote and open Ishasha plains in the southwest of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for tree-climbing lions in the fig trees. The Ishasha plains are also home to elephants, Ugandan kobs, topis, elands, buffaloes, wart hogs, and other savannah wildlife. The Ishasha River also supports a healthy population of hippos.

Day 3: Chimp trekking in Kyambura forest & transfer to Kampala
Early morning report for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura. The Kyambura Gorge experience is more than discovering chimpanzees in their natural environment. Your guide will tell you about the ecosystems of Kyambura Gorge’s atmospheric underground rainforest including vegetation types, bird identification by behavior, chimp and monkey ecology. While walking through the gorge, you may spot other primates and birds. Although chimp sightings are not guaranteed, visitors stand a pretty good chance of hearing and seeing our distant cousins as they are habituated. After the trek you will embark on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe.
